A Rainy Day B-day Party for Adam

The invitations went out for Adam's birthday party - a swim party on a sunny May day. But an unusual storm moved in and we had a thunderstorm (not good for swimming) and temperatures dropped to the high-50's (also not good for swimming). So an hour before the party we shifted to Plan B when we could see that this storm was not going to blow by.

Instead of slip 'n slide, pool games and swimming, we painted and built boats, ran relays on our new nonslippery patio, had a quick squirt gun relay out on the grass during a pause in the storm, had a blast playing SPOONS, ate lunch along with cupcakes and ice cream, and sent the kids on their treasure hunt with umbrellas. It was a great time after all and will probably be one of Adam's more memorable parties because of the last minute changes.

We wish we could have been there. Leave it to Michelle to pull off the best party ever in under an hour flat. Way to go, and Happy 8th!
