Luna loves butter. Any opportunity she gets, she will jump higher than you think possible and grab a cube of butter. This week Luna jumped up and grabbed at the butter dish on the counter. The result was a shattered butter dish and Luna banished to the backyard. We thought we had found all the pieces, but Adam found one - with his foot. After a whole evening of trying to talk Adam into letting us take it out, Adam finally agreed to try to take it out. The piece was small, and sticking out of his foot, but he would not let us get it.
The smile on his face belies the mood of the evening. Dan even gave him some glasses to see it better. Needless to say there was weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. We finally gave up and let him go to sleep. The next morning we resorted to bribes so he would let Dan get it out. It came out quickly, and he was able to go to school with his shoes on!We are making a record of this to show Adam when this happens in the future (this is not the first episode of Adam, a sliver, and hours of misery) in the hopes that he will let us get it out without hours of consternation. One can hope....

Somehow, I don't think Adam is going to be a future surgeon...that's good though, I recently learned it's probably a profession you only go into if you are truly insane.
