At Adam's school they have a reading program called AR (Accelerated Reading) in which the students read books at their individual level, take comprehension tests and receive points for the level of reading difficulty and how well they comprehended the material. Each student sets a goal for the quarter. In Mrs. Bright's class (Adam's class) when a child reaches their goal, they get to have Mrs. Bright's rolling chair for the day!Adam was the first in his class to reach his goal! On Tuesday he was the proud owner of the rolling chair for the day. He reported that while everyone else had to lift their chairs and pivot them to watch Mrs. Bright at the other end of the room, he merely had to swivel around.
Here is Adam on the rolling chair. It sits a little high at his desk, but it was of little consequence as he enjoyed his reward for all his hard work.
Don't you wish something as simple as the promise of a rolling chair would help you reach your goals?!?

That's neat! It's wonderful to hear kids can still be motivated by something so simple! Way to go Adam!
