Cheesecake on Columbus Day

On Monday, Jamie flew off to Denver for work and Morgan headed downtown. We had looked for a factory tour to take and had found Eli's Cheesecake Factory was not too far, so we borrowed the car and drove over for a tour. The tour was very informational - do you know the difference between New York style cheesecake and Eli's cheesecake? New York style uses cream and Eli's uses sour cream which makes their very very smooth. To keep you listening, they ask questions during the tour. If you are the first one with the correct answer, you get a free slice of cheesecake to take home. Both Michelle and Bryce were quick on the draw with correct answers and brought home the prize. We all had to wear hairnets when we entered the factory. Adam put his on a balloon when we finished the tour.



When the tour was over, you get a free slice of cheesecake to sample. Mmmmmm.

When we got back to the condo, Dan and Adam walked over to Grant Park around the corner to look for two geocaches they had looked up earlier. One was supposed to be located under the iron walking leg statues, but they couldn't find it.

The second geocache was supposed to be by the statue of Columbus. Here is Adam taking the same pose as Columbus (on Columbus Day).

This time they were successful in finding the geocache. It was under the statue of Columbus in a small hole. A small film cannister held a log, so all finders could record their success. Geocaches are everywhere!
