Seattle - Part 2

On Thursday we rented a boat and spent the morning on Lake Washington.  As we started out it was a little overcast and foggy.  Can you find the Space Needle in the picture above?  That's right - it's hiding in the clouds.  But in about 30 minutes, all the fog had burned off and it was a bright blue sunshine day.

We spotted a sea plane out for a tour and watched it land nearby.  A ride in a sea plane may have to go on our to-do list for our next visit.

Bryce enjoying the ride.

There are so many things to see on the lake.  There are several draw bridges along the way that open for the taller ships.

It was fun to watch them slowly open, and then close again.

We saw these famous ships along the way.  The Pinnacle and the Wizard are from the show "The Deadliest Catch".

Dan - our captain.

Jamie took the day off to spend with us.  Elliot enjoyed the boat too.

That's a happy face on Adam.  He was not too thrilled to have to wear a life preserver, but he has one more year.  Everyone under 13 has to wear one all the time on the water.

Morgan enjoying the relaxing ride.

Another shot of our captain.

Elliot wanted a turn driving.

Where are we headed, Elliot?

Bryce loved being on the lake even though we weren't wake boarding or tubing.

We saw lots of houseboats on the lake.  The one all the way to the left (partially cut off) is the houseboat that was used in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle".  Spending the morning on the lake was a fun thing to do in Seattle.  We would highly recommend it.

After our boat ride we went looking for a noodle shop we had enjoyed the last time we were in town.  The eatery we were looking for had closed a while ago, but we found another noodle shop that was just as delicious.  In the same mall area was the Confectionery - a candy store that has something for everyone.  We left the store with a wide variety of treats.

We braved the traffic and headed to Snoqualmie Falls.  This is a 270 foot waterfall with an underground hydroelectric plant.  There is a picturesque little village and a resort nearby.

Some pictures by the falls.

The whole group by the falls.

Quite spectacular.

Adam had checked the GPS and found there was a geocache in the area.  Dan and Adam suspected it was on the covered walking bridge.  So they headed over to see if they could spot the geocache.

And what do you know - they found it!

This is how it was hidden.  Can you find it in the picture?

On the drive home we stopped at a little market for some fresh fruit, but then decided we needed a meal.  We found this burger spot, Small Fryes.

Check out their sign.  Not exactly a heart healthy dinner, but it was good.

We were a worn out bunch when we got home.  Bryce headed downstairs to relax - and text Tori.  He also adopted Dan's hat somewhere along the way.

Good night moon.  Good night Elliot.
