School Starts

It is way too hot to think of reading, writing and arithmetic, but they didn't consult us, so school is starting anyway!

Bryce is now at the junior high. A big 7th grader! He is taking honors math, honors language, honors science, social studies, band, p.e. and most importantly - lunch. Bryce is very impressed with lunch at the junior high. They have their choice of pretty much everything kids like - pizza, hamburgers, orange chicken, etc. Ice cream is even available! If you ask him about school, you will get a complete rundown of the lunch program.

Since Bryce is now riding to school on his own, he is also the proud owner of his own cell phone. We have resisted, but finally gave in so we could track his comings and goings.

Luna is excited to have school start. It means she gets a daily run to the school and back. The morning run is enough for her. An afternoon run makes her a "hot dog".

Adam is already in 3rd grade (wasn't he just starting kindergarten yesterday??). His teacher is Mrs. Bright. On his first day of school, Adam came home grinning ear to ear. He didn't know it, but he was glad to be back in school! Mrs. Bright gives out Bright Bucks for doing your work, lining up quietly, having your agenda signed, etc. The kids are all working toward the goal of having enough Bright Bucks to buy Mrs. Bright's rolling desk chair for a day. Adam is motivated - he wants that chair!

We are off to a great start. It's going to be a fun school year!!
