Dr. Lindsay Gunnell

On May 11, 2012, Lindsay graduated from the University of Arizona School of Medicine.  Dan went down to Tucson two days early for the convocation practice, and the Senior Awards breakfast at which Lindsay received the Outstanding Senior Award presented by the faculty and the Bernard Revsin Scholarship award presented by her classmates. 

On Friday the rest of us arrived for the Medical School Convocation held in Centennial Hall on the UofA campus.  This is a fuzzy picture of Dan and Lindsay's mentor, Dr. Paul Gordon placing the hood on Lindsay.  The hood has the colors of the school (red and blue) and the colors of the field of medicine (green) on it.

This is after the convocation but before the commencement.  Boyd's parents (Vaughn and Margaret)  and Lindsay's mom and her husband (Rebecca and Mike) were there too, but we didn't manage to get a group shot of everyone.

Dr. Susan Jones, Lindsay & Edie, and Dr. Gail Guererro.  These are two of the doctors Lindsay worked with in Safford during her rotation in Family Medicine.  Her experience there was one of the reasons she started to consider going into Family Medicine.

That evening the Commencement ceremonies were held in the McKale Center.  You can see Lindsay walking across the stage (and from this view you can see the red and blue of her hood.  How exciting it was to see Lindsay finish four long years of hard work and study so successfully.  We have loved having Boyd, Lindsay and Edie close so that we could see them frequently.  Since graduation they have moved to Seattle where Lindsay has begun her residency program in Family Medicine and Boyd is working in his field of Mechanical Engineering.
