Camp Geronimo

Bryce attended scout camp at Camp Geronimo for 7 days in June. It was about 40 years ago that Dan was a boy scout there, and he got to spend some time with our troop this time too.

Bryce worked hard to earn 4 merit badges while at camp - First Aid, Orienteering, Leatherwork and Wilderness Survival. In addition he earned the "I Did It All" patch which included the polar bear swim where they got up and swam three mornings at 5:00 am - Brrrrr! He also learned all about the Mogollon Monster - watch out!

Each troop had work assignments. Here is Bryce's troop on KP duty. They served up around 250 sloppy joes.

This was home for the week. Dan said the accommodations haven't changed in 40 years. Bryce had a great experience and made lots of great memories. Along with a few other merit badges he has earned, he will probably receive Star rank at the next court of honor. Eagle is in his future!

Way to rough it! I complained about going to swim practice at 6:30 in the morning and that was in a nice, filtered pool!
