The Hale Theater

We have had season tickets to the Gammage Broadway series in Tempe for many years. Actually I had them with my friend Suzanne before Dan and I were married. Over the last few years we have grown a little dissatisfied with the shows chosen for the season. There were always one or two plays that interested us, but we were obligated to the whole season.

This year we did not renew our season tickets, but with a hope that we would branch out and visit some other local venues. For Christmas, Dan surprised me with tickets to the Hale Theater production of "Lend Me a Tenor".

On Saturday night we attended the show, and it was fabulous! It was a fast moving comedy, that was just what we needed. The acting was excellent. The theater is small, but sacrifices nothing due to its size - in fact, there doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. The parking was simple and close (always a challenge at Gammage), and the Hale Theater is just a few miles away from our house. And for the price of one ticket to Gammage, you can take the whole family to the Hale Theater!

Along with a visit to the Mesa Arts Center for the Wallace and Ladmo Show last year, this has been a great start in our attempt to find good entertainment. Check out the Hale Theater's season if you are in town!
