Sometimes our photos aren't the best, but we couldn't pass up this event just because we didn't have a great shot. Here is Adam receiving his first merit badge from his 11-year-old scout leader, Wynn Caffall. As you read in an early post, Adam attended the YM encampment and earned 4 merit badges. At this court of honor the first one, environmental science was awarded. Time to buy a merit badge sash for Adam! Way to go, Adam!!
Adam took this shot of Bryce receiving his bronze palm. This is an award given to a scout who has earned the eagle scout rank, and then has earned 5 additional merit badges (and turned in more paperwork). This is the first palm that has been awarded in our troop, but more will be following. An additional 5 after that will earn a gold palm, and then another 5 merit badges will earn a silver palm.
