Every November the Town of Gilbert has the Gilbert Days Parade. This year the Gilbert High School band was marching in the parade, so we decided to go watch it. Here we are standing for the flag as it approaches. The parade goes down Gilbert Road. What was really exciting was how many people we knew in the parade.
After the flag passed by, there was a flyover. Not jets this time, but crop dusting planes. Just right for a town that has its roots in farming.
We saw three of our neighbors in the parade! First was Marcia Fisher. She lives across the street from us. She has a miniature horse, Spike, who she has trained to pull a little buggy. Isn't it cute?
A little later we saw John Hunt, another neighbor! He has a business called AZ Hoops which installs great basketball hoops. We have one in the backyard and one by the pool - they are great. So there was John with a truck pulling a trailer with a hoop mounted on it. With him was a group of adults and kids shooting baskets. It was great too.
Then came the student council from Adam's school, Sonoma Ranch Elementary School. We knew many of these kids too.
And finally - the last entry in the parade - came the Gilbert Tiger Pride marching band.
This is the one picture that has a glimpse of Bryce.
As they passed by they started playing. Bryce said they only played one piece over and over - Celebration. If you want to annoy Bryce, all you have to do is hum or whistle Celebration. It puts him over the edge.
Even the band's truck was in the parade since they were at the end and that way they could easily load up.
Since we are only a few miles from the parade route we rode our bikes so we wouldn't have to contend with traffic. Definitely the way to go. It was a fun parade. Put it on your list of things to do next year.

We have never been before to this parade but next year I'm going to make a special point to do it. It looks like it was a great time with lots of people to see and support in the parade. I think the bike idea is a great one too!
