Cousins for Adam

With Bryce and Dan gone for a week on the Green River trip, Adam had plenty of activity to keep him from being lonely. Adam's cousins, David Dahl and Rachel Preator, came for a visit. They stayed with us for 10 days. And what do you do in Gilbert in the middle of June? Find water activities to keep you cool.

Our irrigation came one morning at the perfect time of 10 am. So the kids got to watch the yard fill with water, and then they surfed on their own private lake.

Here is David, Rachel and Adam as they take a pause in their boogie boarding.

We picked up Grandma Porter and headed to Pinetop to break the monotony of swimming every day. At the cabin the trio road scooters over to the small lake nearby, played games around the cabin and then complained of boredom. Michelle had brought up two paper airplane books and half a ream of paper for just such an occasion. Before you knew it, they had organized work stations, hangers and paper airplane contests. The loft was the perfect launch pad. In the picture above check out Rachel's airplane taking flight in the bottom of the photo.

Here goes one of Adam's creations. Who knew paper airplanes could entertain kids for so many hours. When we left Pinetop at the end of our stay, the kids packed up a multitude of paper airplanes to continue the flying at home.
Trips to Orange Tree (frozen yogurt), movie nights, games, swimming, wii, and a trip to Pinetop filled our 10 days with lots of fun.
