Christmas 2010

The celebration always begins on Christmas Eve with our traditional enchilada dinner complete with crackers (or poppers) so we can wear our silly crowns.  The Porters joined us too.  We were happy to have Brandt back with us (he has been in Brazil the last two years on his mission) and his friend, Kelli.  We ate way too much before settling down to Family Home Evening. 

We read the Christmas story from the scriptures.  Dan told us about the three kings and we examined some real frankincense and myrrh.  We finished the evening with some Christmas Carol Pictionary.  It was fun, but we needed to get to bed so Santa could come.

Christmas is full of traditions at our house.  One is that Michelle wraps the presents and puts reindeer names on them so no one knows which presents are theirs.  On Christmas Eve the "code" is revealed and the kids (and sometimes the adults) open their Christmas pajamas.  Here is Adam in his new jammies running the train around the Christmas tree.

Bryce was still sick and mostly laid around wrapped in his blanket.  He did manage to open his jammies and wear them.

Bryce's long awaited new trombone hid among the branches of the tree.  Despite his cold, he was excited to receive it.

We ended up with only a few pictures of Christmas - probably because we got a new camera for Christmas and we were too busy trying to figure it out to take any pictures!  We are taking lots of pictures, but the learning curve is steep and not so many look great.  But we will get the hang of it and hopefully have some great pictures in the future.

We ended the Christmas celebration at Sue's house for another round of enchiladas, lots of visiting and more yummy desserts.  It was a great Christmas!!
