Fiesta Bowl Parade
On New Year's Eve we headed to downtown Phoenix on Central Avenue (not far from Grandma & Grandpa Dahl's old house) to watch the Fiesta Bowl Parade. It was still very very cold, and the crowds in the stands showed it (the crowd was sparse - we are pretty wimpy in Arizona when it comes to cold weather it seems). But we went prepared with warm jackets, gloves, blankets and hot chocolate. (Adam did get happier as the parade progressed).
Here is the reason we went. The Gilbert High Tiger Pride Marching Band was participating in the parade! Woo Hoo!
We got a couple pictures of Bryce. They weren't playing as they approached our stands, but started as they passed by. The usher in our section of bleachers heard us yelling to Bryce and got everyone in our section to chant "Bryce, Bryce, Bryce..." The band members aren't allowed to turn and look while they are marching, but we did see a smile cross Bryce's face.
Bryce again - getting ready to play.
After a full week of practices, the band championship (which we got home from at midnight), and then the early morning call time for the parade, Bryce was pretty wiped out on New Year's Eve. Well done, Bryce!
