Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship

The Gilbert High Marching Band was one of two bands from Arizona invited to the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship at the University of Phoenix Stadium (Cardinals' Stadium).  Somehow our beautiful winter weather turned extremely cold (for us) that day.  They were having snow flurries at the stadium when the band arrived in the late morning!

Despite the cold (it was cold inside the stadium too) the band did a fabulous job.  One of their best performances.  The show is called "Journey to the Center of the Earth".  This was their last time to perform the show and they did well.

The Tigers came in 2nd in the preliminaries and 3rd in the finals with awards in music performance, drum majors and auxiliaries.  They missed 2nd place by 0.35 points!  It was a great year.  Bryce loved being a part of marching band, so it looks like we will be back at it again next season.

That is such an awesome competition. I have been a couple of times. It's amazing how far ahead they have to apply to get in. Sounds like they did great!
