Countdown to Christmas
Jamie commented at Christmas that we didn't have enough advent calendars. He was certainly being sarcastic (in a good-natured sort of way) because we have the corner on advent calendars at our house. Here is a sampling. There is Santa with his pockets filled with miniature chocolate bars for each day (definitely the most popular calendar).
Our nativity calendar with the last day having Baby Jesus placed in the manger. You have to keep tabs on who is placing the figures on the nativity. Sometimes we have cows flying in the air where there should be clouds. Silly boys!
Then there is the Christmas Bear calendar where the little stuffed bear goes looking for Christmas. Each day he gets moved to a new room of the house according to the poem at the bottom. This advent calendar was made by Grandma Dahl when Morgan and Lindsay were little.
This year we gave Adam a Lego advent calendar. We laughed that instead of elves and reindeer, the calendar held cops and robbers! Adam sure had fun with all the legos.
We actually have a couple more advent calendars that are not pictured - including a candle that the Hunts bring us each year and a Christmas tree with numbered wooden ornaments. So at Christmas time if you ever wonder how many days till Christmas, just drop by our house and we will set you straight.
