Festival of Colors
Last year Adam's Primary class was trying to plan a class party. As they got to December, their teacher, Betty Winchell, suggested a "colors" party. She had recently been to the festival of colors, so along with decorating Christmas cookies and playing games, they had a festival of colors.
The festival of colors is a Hindu celebration to say farewell to winter and celebrate the colors of the spring. Part of the celebration involves throwing colored powder on each other. The kids all came with old clothes to take part in the festival of colors. Adam was absolutely covered from head to toe in colored chalk. He even had it in his ears!
As you can see he was pretty proud of his "colors"! After several rounds in the shower, Adam was back to normal. We threw his pants away since they were old and we had kept them just for this party. He was hoping the shirt would retain the colors after it was washed, but was disappointed when it came out all clean. Luckily we have these pictures to remember Adam covered in "color".
Adam has really enjoyed Sister Winchell as his Primary teacher. He had a happy surprise when she remained as his teacher for the new year. Yeah!
