Sometimes you have to look for a silver lining. The silver lining of your 4 year old refrigerator going out is that the new one comes in a box. A big box. Michelle asked the delivery men if they had the box on the truck. They did, and they were willing to haul it into the house.
When Adam saw "the box" his eyes lit up. He immediately got his pillow and blanket and made a playhouse.
A few days later, one of our air conditioners went out. It was the one on the side of the house with the boys bedrooms. So we closed all the bedroom doors, turned down the A/C on the east side, set up fans, and tried to keep cool. That meant Bryce and Adam couldn't sleep in their bedrooms. As you can see in the picture above, Adam made a nice bed in his box, and snoozed away.
We still have the box. It is outside now. Probably a couple scorpions have taken up residence. It has several holes and is looking pretty ratty. It's time for the box to go for a ride in the recycling truck. But it has been a fun toy while it lasted. Sometimes the simplest things can be the most fun.

There is no better toy than a huge box. And they are free! (except sometimes you have to actually buy a fridge). Once in a while we would look behind the appliance stores for an empty one. I even liked them as a kid.
Boy isn't that the truth. Some of my kids favorite toys have been the ones that were the least expensive. Well now that I think about I'm not sure that having to replace a refridgerator to get the box was actually in expensive. But it looks like Adam sure enjoyed!
Thank you again for letting Conner take up residency at your home. We should be paying you for his room and board! Thank you again for everything. He sure enjoys Bryce and your family!
